These tart, slightly lemony and very juicy red gems are super-handy for everyday cooking too. Use them to add flair and flavour to couscous, rice, barley and lentil dishes. Pop them into salads, cooked vegetable dishes and preserves – and apply them to many traditional Middle Eastern recipes.

Unusual, but nice. Not at much flavour as cranberries but love the tangy taste that comes through after a while. Much less sugar in them too so nice to use in my home made truffles (which have plenty of sugar already!). My order came quickly too. Hope they have a decent shelf life as I brought a big bag!

Great to grab such a staple of Persian cooking on Dorri, good quality, especially if you’re not close by to any supermarkets which stock this.

Quite sour/tart an acquired taste.
Something different though and worth a try. Would be great to add to dishes like curries or salads.

It went perfectly in my Iranian rice recipe everyone complimented how tasty and tangy these were when paired with rice lamb and chicken. Brought the dish to life!

OK as an alternative but not as good as fresh berries.

Tart-sweet, very tasty and attractive red colour especially good mixed with other fresh fruit, over porridge or mixed into a salad. A bit like dried red currants in taste. Best when soaked in a bit of water overnight in refrigerator. I’ve been using them for just a week now but will continue ordering them as they’re clearly going to be a bright addition to so many dishes. The fact that they’re also good for healthy eating is a big plus.

It tastes really good, especially when you cook it and mix it with your food. I only wish it was a bit cheaper.

I had never heard of Barberries and their nutritional value until I read a food article so I am now adding them to my daughter’s healthy oat and fruit bars for which I am now receiving orders from her fellow gym colleagues! This will I am sure will lead to further orders of this amazing berry – thank you!

I’d bought these previously from another supplier and did not like them. However, these are the best I’ve been able to buy at a reasonable price. Tasty with that added sharpness, and they also have a nice colour to them.

Bought these as ‘Persian Berries’ which we had with rice in the Middle East. In fact I have used them to add a little bit of tartness to some home made fruit bars I’ve made with mixed nuts, dates and sultanas. The barberries add just the right bight to take away the blandness of the dates. A success.
